French officials have consented to begin stopping small boats in the Channel, after months of pressure from the UK.
This policy shift comes after the British leader wrote to the President asking him to back the initiative and stating there presently "have no effective deterrent" in the maritime passage.
French security forces will be allowed to stop the small boats at sea, but only before they've picked up their migrants, according to authoritative statements.
French authorities have infrequently intervened to prevent the heavily loaded boats leaving the coastline because it is considered excessively high a danger to both officers and individuals.
"It is crucial that we implement these tactics this month... We have zero effective prevention in the Channel."
Currently, a French maritime police representative states officers will begin intervening at sea, with the aim of safeguarding lives.
